Julie South

Julie South describes herself as a late-comer to God.   It wasn't until she was in her 40s that she started exploring Catholicism.   Prior to that, she spent most of her life living in the dark wanting nothing whatsoever to do with any church.

Under the late Monsignor Brian Arahill's mentorship (St Michael's, Remuera, Auckland)  and Sister Francis Kelly, Julie graduated from the RCIA (Rite of Catholic Initiation for Adults) at Easter 2007.

Julie's home parish is the Cathedral of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Hamilton, New Zealand.  However, Julie's also at home worshipping at St Joseph’s in Eltham (Taranaki), the Immaculate Conception in Stratford (Taranaki), and Our Lady of Kapiti in Paraparaumu (Kapiti Coast).
